Tartan Ferns Jersey Phase 1 Design Complete

The sample jersey design has been completed and sent off to Nimblewear in China for production.

The fabric is Coolmax with a 3/4 length zip. Let's wait to see what the quality is like!

Here's a breakdown of the design:

  • The tartan is my family tartan (Morrison Red)
  • The ferns represent Richelle and New Zealand.
  • On the front left panel are the Tartan Ferns team members and underneath a graphic which shows someone riding their bike and a sign post Toronto > Niagara
  • One the right sleeve is a pink ribbon and 2010 which marks when Charlotte was diagnosed and treated for breast cancer.
  • On the left sleeve is a green ribbon and 1989 which marks when Ian was treated for Hodgkins Lymphoma

We are now looking for corporate sponsors to help us smash our target. Corporate sponsors will be invited to put their artwork on the jersey.

First RTCC 2011 Poker Night - October 2010

Hi everyone,

Firstly let me apologise for the late posting of the first Ride to Conquer Cancer 2011 Poker night.

It took place back on October 26th and was a huge success. In attendance we had:

Myself (Simon) - playing

Richelle

Cameron - playing

Tully - playing

Hector - playing

Anand -playing

Mike - playing

Moh

Charlotte

Richelle laid on a feast for the hungry poker players with a variety of tasty dishes including stuffed red peppers, pizza, chicken fingers and samosas. She also did a fantastic job at making sure that everyone's drink was constantly filled.

It was a closely fought night eventually falling to Hector and Tully to battle it out for the honour of being called the Tartan Ferns inaugural RTCC Poker Champion. Tully held strong in the end, forcing Hector to go all in and scooping a cool $150 but kindly donated $100 of his winnings back into the donations pot.

Our total donations for this night totalled $300.

I would like to say a huge thank-you to everyone who played and supported us that evening and rest assured there will be more to come.
